Staff
Brother Charles is a native of Lavonia, Georgia. He is married to Sonja Elrod Goldsmith. He has two sons, David and Mike. He was called into ministry in 1991 at Carnesville Baptist Church in Carnesville, Georgia. He was already actively involved with the youth ministry at Carnesville and served as a lay youth minister until late 1993. At that time, he and Sonja felt God calling them to the pastorate. He was called to Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Lavonia, Georgia, where he served until late 1996. It was then that he resigned to attend The Baptist College of Florida. While at Shoal Creek, wife, Sonja, worked with the youth. When they went to college, Brother Charles pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Theology with minors in preaching and evangelism. Sonja pursued a Bachelor's degree which had a Dual Major--Christian Education and Elementary Education. They graduated in May 2002. Once in Graceville, God brought them to Logan Road, where they have been since 1997. Brother Charles and wife are actively involved in Motorcycle Ministry. Early on, they had been members of His Blood Warriors Motorcycle Ministry, based in Commerce, Georgia. As the Lord led, they started a Lower Alabama Chapter and they are still involved. Brother Charles is a Chaplain for Wiregrass Hospice. He also serves on the board of directors for Sav-A-Life of Dale County.

Dr. Darryl Bates - Youth Pastor Brother Darryl is a native of Phil Campbell, Alabama. He is married to Karyn Oliver Bates. He has two daughters, Kassie and Regan. Bro. Darryl was called into ministry in 2000 at Mountain View Baptist Church in Phil Campbell, where he began serving as a lay youth worker. Later that year, he was called to be Director of Youth and Education at Mountain View Baptist. As they were actively involved in missions, God called them to pastor a mission church in Stratton, Colorado in 2002, where they served until 2004. They have been at Logan Road since about mid-2004. Brother Darryl is actively involved with youth-league sports in the community and pursues sports-related ministry whenever possible. Brother Darryl has a Master's Degree in Christian Counseling. He has a motorcycle and he and Karyn ride whenever possible.
