We left a bit after 8:00 this morning from Wal-Mart in Ozark. A beautiful day to ride soon turned into a sea of mixed emotions. We were on a curvy road in Reeltown, AL. I had 3 bikes a head of me and 3 bikes behind me. David was running support vehicle with the trailer and another couple with the group was behind him in their vehicle. I came out of the second of two sharp curves and into a long stretch. As I watched the three ahead of me top the hill and vanish into the horizon, I was repeatedly checking the rear view mirror. The three behind me never came out of the curve. With my husband and two sons somewhere in the curves behind me, I got a sick feeling in my stomach...I slowed, eventually coming to a stop and turned around. When I went back through the first curve, my fears began to be realized...someone had gone down. I got back and David met me in the road to tell me that "Moe" had gone down on his Big Dog Chopper. He was hurt, but I was unsure of the injuries. I am posting this after spending most of the day at East Alabama Medical Center with him. He has sever road rash and a broken wrist. Praise be to God!!!!!!! He could have easily been more seriously injured...or worse. He is back in Ozark and we are in Alexander City. The group split up. Three bikes went on to Trenton to ride the ride tomorrow, we are a group of three, and will meet up tomorrow in Tuscaloosa. We ask that you praise God with us for Moe's outcome and please pray for him as he recovers. Also please pray for us as we finish the trip.
